About Bupa China
As the bridgehead of Bupa―the leading international healthcare group in
China, Bupa China Representative Office was opened in Beijing in 2006,
focusing on market research and exploration of opportunities to
contribute to the health and wellbeing of Chinese people. From 2007,
the Representative Office has been running a hospital evaluation
program called Managing Quality Services (MQS), which is dedicated to
help Chinese hospitals in continuous improvement of their service
qualities. The program was conducted under the Memorendum of
Understanding (MOU) of “Partners in Health Innovation”, signed between
the Chinese and British governments. To date, six hospitals in Beijing
and two hospitals in Shanghai have been evaluated.
In 2011, Bupa is strengthening its presence in China by establishing a
back office administration business to support its regional health
insurance business and to better serve its customers in China. A
partnership was also set up between Bupa China and Chinese insurer
Alltrust to respond to an increased demand for a more localized
proposition. Bupa China is turning over a new page to deliver the
commitment of bringing its healthcare expertise to the welfare of
