Business Development Manager

Job Purpose This position is responsible for targeting and hunting for new business with new customers by selling APLL’s capabilities and solutions, promote sales processes, including but not limited to quotes, presentations, and organizing customer meetings and events, establish and drive a smooth process for bridging the sales and operational activities involved in on-boarding new accounts. Key Accountabilities Marketing Management • Maintain good relationship with existing clients, continuously improve the profitability and dig out new business opportunities. • Ensure timely and accurate reports of target accounts, opportunities and sales calls. • Follow up A/R and ensure the timely payment from the customers • Responsible to follow the customer qualification and on-boarding protocols, including credit setup and contract coordination for customers, Lead the client through the on-boarding process • Able to build up relationship with customers and dig out the opportunities fitting into APLL’s capabilities and competencies • Using existing marketing tools to generate leads and qualify the target accounts • Handle customer enquiries and prepare for the quotations • Plan and execute regular client meetings to discuss process, issues, mitigations to risks, and introduce development opportunities • Able to understand market dynamics and seize opportunities Operational Engagement • Ensure infrastructure for new and additional client solutions is in place including: o Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Logistics Procedures (LP) o Setting up profiles in system and filing rates o Finances set up in system (credit application, sales justification form) • Ensure initial SOP compliance across all regional/global locations • Ensure that client’s initial routines including monthly report and internal scorecard are prepared timely and accurately as per pre-agreed format and timeline Qualification • Bachelor degree or above, 985/211 major in logistics related • Excellent English language skills (Overseas study and work background is preferred) Requirements • 2-3 years sales experience in the same industry • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Strong analytical skills • Understand business processes • Good knowledge of international and domestic logistics • Customer Focus and Engagement Skills (with large accounts is a plus) • Good understanding of sales and operations process • Passion, initiative and drive to continuously develop and work with creativity and innovation • Establish a network of customer and business relationships • Problem-solving skills and customer service skills • Relevant working experience in multinational company or third party logistics supply chain department • Ability to work in complex situations and under pressure Key Result Areas • Finish the tasks assigned by team leader and sales team on time and with high quality • Identify the challenges and make initiatives in sales process and onboarding process. • Meet regional AR target • Full compliance in sales system input
