HKBU is committed to providing "Whole Person Education" and endeavor to train highly qualified personnel with a global vision. With the continuous expansion of the Mainland affairs, HKBU has been increasing its research and education institutions established in the Mainland in recent years. HKBU has joined forces with Haimen Municipal Government to establish the HKBU (Haimen) Institute of Science and Technology (“IST”) in Riverside New District of Haimen, Jiangsu Province. IST is a public institution and will focus on the research of Chinese medicine and new materials with the aim of transforming research results for practical use. Four building blocks of the Institute have been constructed and will be under renovation very soon. The IST will also offer research programmes in related disciplines and other taught postgraduate programmes in fulfillment of its long-term commitment to nurture world-class talents.
